SWEET CORN 4-8 s/g

(Zea mays rugosa). A warm weather crop. Sow after frost in spring and continue until late December (cold): September to January (temp): August to February (trop). Must be well fed. Sow seed 5 to 8 cm deep and thin out to 30-35 cm between plants. Plant in blocks of several rows to ensure good pollination. Make small sowings every 1 to 2 weeks for continuity.

BABY CORN

1907: Petite Hybrid

Expect 5 or 6 cobs of true baby corn when harvested young. Ears must be picked regularly before the silk appears. Plant seed 10cm apart. Fully mature cobs may even be used as popcorn.

NORMAL HYBRIDS

1900: Legacy

Not to Tasmania . A dependable, vigorous and reliable Sweet Corn with well filled ears which are typically 21 cm long. Matures in 85 days from sowing.

SUPERSWEET HYBRIDS

1902: Max

Excellent sweet taste from the well filled 19 cm cobs. Plants vigorous with most producing 2 cobs. Has resistance to Rust, Northern Corn Leaf Blight and Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus. Matures approx 85 days from sowing.
