Sow 1 cm deep and thin 15 to 20 cm apart. Plants can grow to 1 metre. Begin picking the spinach like leaves when 30 cm tall.

Used for centuries in Europe, it is now used as a "green", a spinach substitute and in leafy mixes. Leaves are an attractive purple.
